Clementine Reflections by Charles Young Walls
14 x 18 Oil

Judge's Comments: Great design and richness of color. I like that the darkest and most finished areas of the painting start on the left causing your eye to move left to right. The oranges, cup, and luscious grapes could stand alone as a great painting! - Douglas Morgan

Along The Coast by Brian LaSaga
24" x 36" Acrylic

Judge's Comments: Beautifully painted seascape. The way the artist rendered the glistening rocks, movement of the tide and pulsating surf, I can almost feel myself standing along the shore feeling the breeze, tasting the salt spray and hearing the oceans' roar. I am impressed that this was done in acrylic. The artist has mastered the medium. - Douglas Morgan

Bay City Downpour by Mark Lague
30 x 60 Oil

Judge's Comments: I am a cityscape fan and this is one of the nicest. A grey, rainy day in San Francisco is anything but beautiful to experience, but this painting tells a different story. Wonderful reflections of the cars and city on the wet pavement. Subtle use of color. Shades of grey never looked so good. Except for the taxi on the right and the figures on the left, the rest of the painting is mostly abstract which is a successful design element. - Douglas Morgan

Stand Down by Ned Axthelm
33 x 26 Oil

Judge's Comments: Dynamic composition with the figure off to the side. Beautifully rendered coat and great expression on the man. Good use of complimentary tertiary colors(red orange- blue green). The detail of the brick wall does not compete with subject of the painting which is important. Nice job! - Douglas Morgan

Lapin IV by Marina Dieul
9 x 9 Oil

Judge's Comments: What a cute little rascal! A clever composition. I think this bunny as painted appears just as curious the viewer as we are of it. Beautifully rendered with its sensitive expression, realistic fur and twitching whiskers. I am sure the artist has spent many hours studying rabbits up close in order to paint one this superbly. - Douglas Morgan
